30th
Anniversary of the Assassination of Cuban American
Eulalio Negrin
Havana, Nov
26, (RHC).-
A political-cultural activity was held on Wednesday in
Havana on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the
assassination of Cuban American Eulalio Negrin.
Negrin
was in favour of the normalization of relations between
the United States and Cuba and came to the island with a
group of other Cuban emigrates in what was called El
Dialogo, or the Dialog aimed at normalizing ties between
Cuban emigrants abroad and their homeland.
The
activity which was held at the Institute of Friendship
with the Peoples, the ICAP representative from Negrin´s
home town of Matanzas, Margarita Alfonso highlighted his
human virtues in particular his solidarity with Cuba.
She
pointed out that Negrin was assassinated because he
opposed Washington´s irrational policy towards Cuba and
for fighting for a change of the anti Cuban measures.
Alfonso
also referred to the White hypocritical policy regarding
terrorism allowing the assassination of Negrin by
terrorist Pedro Remon currently walking the streets of
Miami alongside Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch,
all protected by Washington.
Eulalio
Negrin was shot to death in front of his 12 year old son
in the streets of New Jersey on November 25th, 1979.
