Portuguese Legislators
Echo International Call for the Release of Cuban
Five
Lisbon, Aug 7, (RHC).-
Portuguese lawmakers echoed the international
call for the release of
the Cuban Five, urging U.S. President
Barrack Obama to take this matter into his own
hands.
The Communist Party Caucus of the Portuguese
Parliament asked Obama to make use of his
executive prerogatives to have this case
reviewed.
The Portuguese
legislators stressed that Gerardo Hernandez,
Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero
and Fernando Gonzalez are currently serving
harsh and unjust sentences for aborting
terrorist actions organized by Florida-based,
anti-Cuban groups sponsored by the Cuban-American
extreme right.
