Finlay Institute Opens Vaccine

The Finlay Institute
will celebrate Latin American Medicine Day on
December 3 with the inauguration of a plant capable
of producing the active component of vaccines for up
to 100 million doses.
The Cuban News Agency
(ACN)
reports that the facility will be able to meet the
demands of the meningococcal vaccine established by
the World Health Organization for Cuba, African
countries and others.
It will also produce
other vaccines including the one against typhoid
fever.
The new 1,084 square
meter installation will operate around the clock
with 81 specialists. It has specialized areas for
different phases of the process that meet the
strictest international standards for the
pharmaceutical industry.
