Las Tunas .- The nursing staff of the Ernesto Guevara de la Serna General Teaching Hospital, in this eastern province, are taking actions to improve the quality of services to the population.
Among the plans to be met during 2012 are the raising the scientific and technical rigor, and more recognition for the work with patients and their families, according to the Tiempo 21website.
The institution is working to increase the staff in the hospitalization and intensive care services, in addition to increased teaching to train better prepared professionals.
In the hospital some 805 nurses provide the care, of whom, 50 percent are graduates, 19 specialists and 31 with Master of Science degrees.
Currently the staff at the "Guevara" is engaged in a repair process in order to change its image and make the stay more comfortable for patients.
The annual renewal of such premises can amount to one million pesos, and includes actions to improve the accounting system, to provide greater internal control and organization of human resources.
