Surinam’s National Assembly President Visits Cuba

President of Surinam’s National Assembly, Slamet Somohardjo, placed a wreath at the Jose Marti Memorial located at the Revolution Square in Havana, as a tribute to Cuba’s National Hero.

On Tuesday afternoon, Somohardjo met with officials of the Americas Department of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Party’s Central Committee. He also held talks with President of the Cuban Parliament, Ricardo Alarcon.

During its stay, the Surinamese delegation will meet with the Supervising Commission of Local People’s Power Organizations, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Commerce and Investment and will visit the Latin American Medical School and the Carlos J. Finlay Institute.

Somohardjo said he’s been an admirer of Che Guevara since he was very young and was interested in learning more details about his life.
