Cuban Fair Boosts Commercial and Recreational Offers

The inhabitants of Las Tunas have been able to
find, since January 8, 2006, in the July 26 Park
numerous commercial offerings and recreational
activities.

The refurbishment of the entrance and some of
the facilities have made this broad community
space even more beautiful and functional.

Las
Tunas, Cuba, Feb 11, (P26).- Elda and her
husband go to the July 26 Park early every Sunday to
look for the agricultural and meat products for the
week.
Each week the participating companies set out the
amounts of agricultural products, foodstuffs, meat
and prepare the sales areas to serve the crowds at
7:00 am.
The Fair developed in the July 26 Park, has been
going for four years, and has sold 186,780 quintals
of agricultural products.
Each Sunday fair, along with these grocery offers,
there are various recreational activities in the
area for the youth and children, games, book and
flower sales.
The results of these four years total 103 million
pesos in sales, with a per capita of 500.00 pesos
per household in the city of Las Tunas.
Commercial sales totalled 63,500,000 pesos and agro
products over 31.5 million. Thanks to the commitment
and dedication of the men and women who have the
responsibility to make every week a reality feasible
to raise the level of people's lives on such a
sensitive issue such as food.
Among the best-selling products are the Fisheries
(3.6 million pesos); pork (over a thousand tons);
Cookies (200 tons) and bread (more than two million
pesos).
