The Sugar Harvest Begins in Las Tunas
By Roger Aguilera

Las Tunas, Cuba, Jan14, (ACN).- The harvest in the province has begun with the sugarcane harvests in the Amancio Rodriguez sugar mill ; whose industry will produce sugar, alcohol, honey and rum.

The center will be launched early next week, after completing the
appropriate repairs and tested, with ground cane, to prove the good
performance of machinery.

The mill that was built by the Revolution nearly a quarter century ago
will begin milling on the 21st of this month. Antonio Guiteras, one of the largest producers of sugar in Cuba, will also most start at the end of this month, with renewed machinery, mainly the boilers.

It is expected to obtain an average of 11 tons of sugar per hundred tons of milled cane, quite a high yield, but already reached in the province in previous harvests.
