LAS
TUNAS, Cuba, Dec 20, (P-26).- The provincial
ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the
triumph of the Cuban revolution took place in an
apartment complex in the municipality of Majibacoa,
which won the right to be the venue of this important
celebration in the province of Las Tunas.
Before
the triumph of the revolution, Las Tunas only produced
sugar cane, dependent on American companies, but half a
century later it has a high production and economic
potential in many different development sectors.
Among the
most important achievements of the province are the
steelworks in the industrial zone, both for national
consumption and export, the development of water
resources, with the construction of reservoirs and
micro-reservoirs, improvements in trade and catering,
house building and facilities for education, health
and many other sectors, said Jorge Cuevas Ramos, First
Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in the province
of Las Tunas at the end of the ceremony, which was
attended by more than 5,000 people from the municipality
of Majibacoa.
From now
until January 1st, the people of Las Tunas will be
celebrating, in style, half a century of changes that
benefit all Cubans.
