Obama's Priority: War against Iran, Israeli Thinker Says

Ankara, July 2, (PL).- Israeli academic Michel Warshawsky affirmed on Friday he is convinced that US President Barack Obama's top priority is war against Iran. Warshawsky, founder of the Alternative Information Center in Jerusalem, made his statements to Prensa Latina in the context of the European Social Forum taking place in Istanbul, analyzing the Middle East situation amidst the beat of war drums against Iran.

According to this Israeli dissident, the George W. Bush government was the most beneficial for the US-Israel relationship, with actions jointly organized and carried out in the global so-called "war of prevention."

Both Bush and Obama share the same goal of reinforcing US hegemony and interests worldwide. Bush tried to achieve this through war, Obama wants to be more subtle by using diplomacy, Warshawsky said.

However, this difference owns to the inability to maintain multiple wars at the same time, which made Bush fail due to a lack of financial and military means. That is the reason why Obama has decided to set priorities and favors the war against Iran, as the Israeli government demands.
