Honduran Congress Delays Vote on Zelaya’s Return

Tegucigalpa, Nov 18, (RHC).- Honduran lawmakers have again delayed a decision on restoring the constitutional president of the Central American country, Manuel Zelaya, to his rightful place in Tegucigalpa. Honduran congressional leader Jose Saavedra says the assembly won’t vote on Zelaya’s return until after this month’s presidential elections, scheduled for November 29th.

Manuel Zelaya, who is still holed up in the Brazilian Embassy in the Honduran capital, has emphasized that he won’t return to office after the elections, saying doing so would legitimize the fascist military coup that overthrew him on June 28th.
