France Voices Support to Zelaya

Paris, Oct 23, (PL).- Several groups and solidarity organizations, the French Communist Party (PCF), diplomats and the elected representative of Ile de France Regional Council renewed their support to Honduras Constitutional President Manuel Zelaya.

During an encounter held at Robespierre Hall, Ivry-sur-Seine, in the outskirts of Paris, participants demanded the immediate reinstatement of Honduras constitutional leader, and also condemned the actions of the putschists.

Head of International Relations of the Democratic Unity Party, Honduran deputy Silvia Ayala, and member of the Feminist Movement in Resistance Melba Reyes, among others, spoke during the gathering.

The delegation of the Central American nation met with PCF Senators in Paris, demanding to send to the government of Nicolas Sarkozy an updated report on the situation in Honduras.

International pressure on the de-facto regime must comtinue, the European Union cannot recognize the de-facto regime or new elections if coup leaders continue in power and the world must know the repression that is taking place in our nation, they demanded.
