Why has Las Tunas been Called the Capital City of Cuban Sculpture?
Since the very birth of the province of Las Tunas in 1976, with the new political and administrative division, there was an emerging movement of professional and amateur sculptures here. That is the reason why the first and the second National Meetings of Sculptures were held in this city in 1974. The exhibits were made up of small works. |
Authentic Ritual of Human Light
The white marble makes me think of the virgin floes of the North Pole or, maybe, of those of the south. And sometimes when I sit on the walls that surround it, It feels as if I walked from the Patagonia to the Bravo River with all its African-American and Indian-American laments. Such is the charm that nobody can ignore it, in spite of the whole promiscuity of the ambience. |
