The Melissa Clothing business unit, from Las Tunas, received the Certificate that recognizes it as the Best Entity of the Light Industry Business Group (Gempil) in the country by the results achieved in the development of the industrial culture of the detail.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The award that is instituted by Gempil and the Boga National Textile Clothing was extended to all the workshops of that Company in this province of eastern Cuba, which ranked among the most outstanding territories in this economic branch.
Ana América Escalona, Commercial Director, attributed the achievement to the sense of belonging, the commitment and dedication of the workers and their decision to guarantee and maintain economic efficiency.
The productivity levels enabled the favorable behavior of the productive and sales indicators by the end of 2017.
The commercial production exceeded the foreseen plan by more than two million pesos, the average salary reached 101.4 percent, the cost per peso produced did not surpass the planned 70 cents and the profits were in the order of 109.4 percent.
Escalona said that there was no overdraw in the consumption of energy carriers and the work contracts were fulfilled on time and with the finishing required by customers.
For the meritorious performance, Melissa won the Provincial Quality and Competitiveness Award. It also received awards from the Delegation of Citma, for the results in the activity of science, technology and technological innovation. Besides, the State Reserve Institute recognized them for the storage, rotation, maintenance, conservation, physical integrity, quality and control of the material reserves deposited in the entity during 2017.
Suzel Carreras Matos, general secretary of the Provincial Bureau of the Union of Industries, praised the integrated work of the administration, the union and other organizations that has made possible to maintain the Business Improvement, the certification of quality and a reliable accounting.
The union leader recalled the importance of collective participation in the current process of presentation of the technical-economic plan to the workers and the significance of the preparations for the 21st Labor Congress, whose call is a mean that inspires to achieve new and bigger goals.
