Melissa Clothing Company manufactures protective masks

More than 130 thousand nasobucos have been produced to date in the Melissa base business unit, belonging to the Boga Clothing Company, as part of the measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The initiative is joined by the entity's workshops located in four municipalities in this eastern province: Jobabo, Colombia, Puerto Padre and “Jesús Menéndez.”

"It has been a challenge for our group, but we have undertaken it with great commitment, complying with all the measures guided by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap)," explained Tania Reygada Pérez, general director of “Melissa.”

"Many people have approached us and we have taught them to make the protective masks at home, and we have offered templates to several companies so that their workers can take on the manufacture of the garment at home," she added.

The collective, deserving of the merits Labor Feat and National Vanguard, has the necessary raw material for the production of more than 171 thousand masks that will also reach the provinces of Matanzas and Camagüey.
