All electoral structures are working intensely to arrive at the national elections with the conditions created

The vice president of the National Electoral Council (CEN) of Cuba, Tomas Amarán, affirmed on Friday that all details are being adjusted so that citizens can freely exercise their right to vote on March 26.

Havana, Cuba.- In an appearance on local television, Amarán explained that all electoral structures are working intensely to arrive at the national elections with the conditions created and that the house-to-house visits, in coordination with the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), which allowed direct contact with the families, were fundamental.

He pointed out that during those days they talked to around two million voters, which allowed them not only to receive information on how the process will be carried out on March 26 but also to learn about the specific situation of many families with people unable to attend the voting stations.

In these cases, formulas are being sought to guarantee that all citizens can exercise their right to vote at the polling stations, so that the ballots can be taken to their houses with the due care of transparency, due to the participation of the pioneers and the seal of the envelope where the vote travels.

Amaran explained that situations such as those who must leave for work before the opening of the polling stations and who do not finish their work until after the closing of the polling stations are also valued.

There are places where the working centers will start operations later and others where it has been requested to start voting before 07:00, the scheduled time, he commented.

The NEC vice president pointed out that after the publication of the electoral lists and the biographies of the candidates in places of large populations, they worked on the preparation of the ballots, which 24 hours before the voting day will be delivered to the polling stations. (PL)
