The Provincial Defense Council in Las Tunas specified the control and confrontation actions of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, in accordance with the update of the plan of measures that the country implements in view of the expansion of this pandemic trough the world.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Manuel Pérez Gallego, president of the body, explained that the decision was made to activate the municipal councils of Puerto Padre, Las Tunas and "Jesús Menéndez," as these places are the ones with the most cases of COVID-19 suspects.

Despite the fact that several centers have already been defined for the isolation of patients, Pérez Gallego called for evaluating new proposals for places that could function in the event of saturation of those who currently provide services. As reported in these days, a thousand 407 inhabitants of the province must arrive in the country from other nations, who will remain isolated for 14 days before having any contact with their families.

Pérez Gallego asked to reinforce care with the elderly as they are the most vulnerable group to complications from COVID-19. The message is clear: we must avoid leaving the house and take extreme care for everyone's health; but if someone has any doubts and tries to violate the measures; they will feel the rigor of the law.
