The province of Las Tunas is working on the recovery of its gardens, although it is clear that much remains to be done, still when the territory is self-sufficient for funerals and other vital services.

Las Tunas.- Esteban Rojas Correa, deputy director of Flowers and Plants of the Communal services company, told 26 that the harshest times of the COVID-19 pandemic were devastating for floriculture in these lands.
He also noted that the Balcón de Oriente (Eastern Cuban Balcony) has 13 gardens that cover 42.4 hectares, which are active, so the work is aimed at increasing the production of delicate flowers.

“There is a program for the recovery of the gardens and we are allocating investment financing. We started in Puerto Padre, which has already made purchases of first-class fine flowers such as roses, gladioli, and daisies, from Japan.

"Another five municipalities: “Jesús Menéndez,” “Colombia,” “Amancio,” Las Tunas, and Majibacoa should have the budget for their gardens in the next few days."

In the manager's opinion, counteracting the high prices of private sellers depends on the progress of this revival; to maintain the points of sale from the state sector well supplied is the way.
