The agricultural sector celebrates May Day in the fields.

There are several reasons for agricultural, forestry, and tobacco workers in the province of Las Tunas to celebrate this May Day and they show it by carrying out their daily work in the fields.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The country currently has many economic limitations, so the contribution of these men and women is decisive to consolidate food and nutritional sovereignty, as well as to replace food imports, whose prices are constantly rising in the international market.

To achieve this, it is imperative to guarantee yields by increasing productive areas because the difficulties are not limited to the lack of fuel, but also involve herbicides, fertilizers, pesticides, machinery, irrigation systems, and numerous inputs.

In their efforts to produce food, the basic business units Dismantling and Construction, Agricultural Projects, and Selected Fruits stand out, all of them winners of the National Vanguard Condition granted by the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC, by its Spanish acronym).

In addition to the joy of the different collectives, the cooperative and peasant sector, deserved for the first time the central act for the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), which will take place on the 17th, in the city of Jobabo.

Today, International Workers' Day, many workers in the sector put and will put their effort into food production and it is the best way to show that Cuba can count on them.
