Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will arrive in Cuba on Thursday for an official visit. The visit is aimed at normalizing, stabilizing and deepening bilateral ties.

Havana, Cuba.- This is the first official call by a Spanish prime minister in 32 years. Sánchez and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel will open a business forum in the Grand Packard hotel, which is run by the Spanish chain Iberostar.

According to Spanish media, during his two-day stay Sanchez will be joined by executives from two dozen companies.

Spain is Cuba´s third largest trading partners with annul bilateral commerce at around 1.3 billion dollars.

Several hundred Spanish firms already have a presence in Cuba, particularly in the tourism sector, dominated by alliances between Spanish hotel chains and Cuban companies. (RHC)
