The former president called on Ecuadorians to exercise what he called “a powerful instrument of justice” in the elections

Ecuador's former president Rafael Correa (2007-2017) denounced the persistent maneuvers to discredit his Citizen Revolution (RC) movement when there is little more than a month and a half left for the extraordinary elections of August 20.

Quito.- Through a video posted on his social media, the former president called on Ecuadorians to exercise what he called “a powerful instrument of justice” in the elections, which will allow Ecuadorians to elect a new government and thus recover peace and stability in the country.

To this end, the former governor urged to vote for the presidential candidate of the RC, Luisa González, and her running mate, Andrés Arauz, who lead all polls because of the electoral appointment.

According to Correa, the maneuvers of political sectors opposed to the CR continue to try to sustain the persecution against leaders and militants of this political force through the orchestration of judicial processes in the middle of the campaign. (PL)
