Journalist Katiuska Blanco wrote in an article that the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution is the root, trunk, and foliage of the nation and humanity; a reserve for the harsh winter, war, or oblivion. This idea of keeping him in mind and looking into his life and work encouraged, in November 2021, the foundation of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- From the rivers La Plata and Carpintero, in the Sierra Maestra, to the capital's Vedado, the peeling Chinese stones and rocks arrived; they could not be missing in the tribute with more than 11,000 plants and a higher number of vertical gardens, in addition to some 2,300 cubic meters of enriched substrate. Every detail was designed and conceived with minute precision; just as the site that holds the cedar urn with his ashes was conceived in Santa Ifigenia.

So many elements come together in the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, the building behind the construction of which Eusebio and the Office of the Historian of Havana, with its engineers and architects, were responsible. It is a beautiful piece in which history throbs, sometimes in obvious ways, at other times with artful winks and allusions.

Julio Antonio Esquivel and Yennis López Quiñones, a doctor and an educator respectively, are two young people from Las Tunas who visited this "cathedral" dedicated to spreading the thought, work, and example of Caguairán.

"It was an amazing experience. I liked how the history of this personality was shared, because it uses very advanced technological resources, in such a way that it can be attractive to children, young people, and even older adults," says Julio Antonio, an admirer and practitioner of Marti's work, as was Fidel.

Yennys, for her part, was captivated by the garden. "Each of the plants had a QR code on its roots, and after scanning it, you get all the information related to that piece of flora. There was also an interactive map showing Fidel's visits to the country's municipalities, and I was able to look up Las Tunas, and my town was marked as one of those visited by the Commander," said the art instructor.

From there, she recalls, she left with a mixture of emotions and the commitment already fulfilled to send information about Fidel's visit to Jobabo.

The complex has a Sierra Maestra library on two levels. On the first level, digital information is available, and on the second, printed bibliography on topics related to Fidel, the Cuban Revolution, and its historical context. For the president of the Movimiento Juvenil Martiano in Las Tunas, Roynel Reyes Ávila, this site is of special importance.

"It was the one that caught my attention the most, it has a resemblance to Hogwarts in Harry Potter, precisely because of a survey that was carried out among teenagers and young people who, when asked what they wanted the library to be like, answered that it should be like the one in the film," he told 26.

In the nine exhibition rooms, visitors can learn about fundamental aspects of the life of the son of Biran and his constant battle in defense of justice and truth for the people of the world. The name of each of the spaces refers to a scene and a moment in national history: a temporary exhibition hall (Cinco Palmas), an interactive area (Biran), a multi-purpose area (La Plata); the amphitheater (Turquino), which hosts a varied cultural program; together with the El Uvero bookshop and the El Cubano Libre printing house.

"A center worthy of the name and stature of our Comandante Fidel", says Roynel, who points out that the new generations must pay permanent tribute to the man who will soon be 100 years old. Already engraved in the substratum of the Cuban soil, like a good seed Fidel must sprout in every age, just as he does in the center that exalts who he is Quixote of Time.
