60 kilograms of medicines and supplies for Cuba's healthcare sector were delivered.

The Belgium-based Sovereign Cuba humanitarian project sent three suitcases loaded with a total of 60 kilograms of medicines and supplies for Cuba's healthcare sector.

Brussels.- The coordinator of the initiative, Reinaldo Romero, stated in an interview with Prensa Latina that the donation was for healthcare and social centers in the provinces of Pinar del Río and Havana.

“We are grateful for the support (of solidary people) in Belgium who provided the medicines or offered to carry the suitcases, as well as those in Cuba who guarantee the reception and delivery, in particular the beautiful project “Cuba must be loved,” said Romero, a resident in Belgium.

Since last year Sovereign Cuba has dispatched donations by air consisting of small loads of aid to Cuba, which complement the main objective of the project: the shipment of containers.

Romero described the solidarity gesture towards Cuba and its people as a collective effort, an initiative in which he has enrolled several people in Belgium.

“We continue with our project, with the identification of partners and the accumulation of equipment and medical supplies for a future container,” he said.

Since its creation in 2021, Sovereign Cuba has dispatched four containers to Cuba -the most recent of them was last April- loaded with hospital beds, incubators, resuscitation equipment, wheelchairs, sports equipment, medicines, and other resources. (PL)
