Inauguration of the 3rd Industry and Commerce Fair.

The third edition of the Industry and Commerce Fair was opened on Thursday at the Las Tunas Hotel and the Theme Park, of the territorial capital, with the presence of the province's main political and government authorities. The forum, which will last until December 3, aims not only to consolidate the progress gained but also to create new spaces for the necessary business link between the different economic actors of the Cuban Eastern Balcony.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- “Today, we close a year of challenges and difficulties, but also of innovation and solutions, a year where talent and creativity have made it possible for us to be gathered today to show the world what is most representative of the territory,” said Jaime Ernesto Chiang Vega, governor of the province, before cutting the ribbon that inaugurated the Fair, together with the member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party here, Manuel René Pérez Gallego.

The purpose of the meeting, highlighted Chiang Vega, continues to be “to seek new investments to develop our products and services and -above all expand international collaboration to achieve greater transformations for the good of society.”

Also taking part in the evening opening were Roberto López Hernández, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment; Javier Aguiar Rodríguez, deputy head of the Food Industry portfolio; Antonio Carricarte, president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce; and the ambassadors of Timor Leste and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The land of Vicente García makes this appointment with the advantages of already having an active e-commerce platform and a local company with specified export and import prerogatives. In these three days, it is expected that businessmen will sign the first productive administration contract developed here, establish another agreement with foreign investors for commercial activities -also involving import and export-, and the featuring of innovative products and services from this eastern region.

More than a hundred state and non-state  Cuban companies are participating in the third chapter of the Fair; while businessmen and women from the Bahamas, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Chile, Egypt, Timor Leste, United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Panama, Bulgaria, Mexico, Canada, and Peru also attend.

3rd Industry and Commerce Fair promote spaces for exchange

The Las Tunas Integral Agricultural Company "stole" the start of the 3rd Industry and Commerce Fair by signing an export and import contract with foreign partners, even before the opening ceremony.

On the first day, the University of Las Tunas also stood out, as more than four letters of intent were submitted by its specialists on this date. The small company Facilito, the Beverages and Soft Drinks Company, and the Community Architects shared a fruitful day at their stands that they intend to repeat during the event to continue strengthening the services they provide in the unavoidable environment of knowledge. The participation of all municipalities with accurate proposals aimed at promoting development by taking advantage of local potential is also remarkable.

The organizers are optimistic that what was achieved in previous years would be surpassed. The 2022 call was attended by 85 state or private entities from several provinces and three foreign nations, and 696 letters of intent were signed. The original version of 2021 welcomed 92 companies and saw the signature of 419 of the aforementioned instruments.

Along with the invitations that are already becoming archetypal in these events such as business meetings, product or service launches, the solidarity forum, tours of the stands, and the pairing of tobacco and rum, the doors will now be opened to conferences, a dialogue between businessmen and young entrepreneurs, and the launch of new developments for the local economic panorama such as stores run by private companies for online or marketplace sales.

Likewise, participants will get in touch with the cultural heritage of this land through the presentation of the Cucalambeana Fiesta, with the Zabaleando and Del Caribe Soy projects; as well as the Petit Dance community route.

Several of the forum regulars arrive with clear aspirations to strengthen what has been achieved in terms of liaison with domestic and foreign markets, and to revalidate the awards granted by the organizers and other entities. Thus, the Integral Agricultural Company (AGROINT) will try to retain the Grand Prize of the Fair, which it won in 2022, and the Fishing Company, which last year took to its showcases the laurels awarded, respectively, by the Chamber of Commerce and the Cuban Association of Social Communicators (ACCS, in Spanish).
