Havana, Cuba.- According to a report from the Cuban News Agency (ANC), after complex remodeling works, the estates Guachinango and Buena Vista in the so-called Valle de los Ingenios (Sugarmills Valley), in Trinidad, will be available for holidaymakers interested in the region's culture.
The report says that Trinidad, in central Sancti Spiritus province, is the best-preserved city with a Spanish colonial architecture and was designated Humankind's Cultural Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Local Ministry of Tourism Delegate Reiner Rendón said that those buildings, each of which will offer four rooms and gastronomic and entertainment services, are run by Palmares Extra-hotel Company.
He added that remodeling works respected the original culture and the environment.
Rendón noted that Guachinango, an estate that is 16 kilometers from Trinidad, is the only estate in the Valley devoted to cattle raising.
In the case of Buena Vista, the structure has been secured and all carpentry works were replaced.
That estate is considered by experts a major exponent of the region's industrial architecture and it is an atypical neoclassic mansion in the middle of a tropical landscape.
Rendon also referred to the importance of these actions to protect the environment.
Experts in heritage pointed out that despite its different style, Buena Vista also shows traditional elements from the 19th century. (PL)
