United Nations.- On Monday, the Portuguese diplomat will travel to the Cuban capital for the 37th session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and will hold a meeting there with the island's president, stated the deputy spokesman of the UN highest representative, Farhan Haq.
The spokesman told Prensa Latina, the Guterres will have bilateral exchanges with several delegations and among them, he highlighted his first meeting with the newly elected Cuban president.
It is also the first visit of Guterres to Cuba, since he assumed his position at the head of the United Nations the previous year.
The 37th ECLAC session will take place in Havana from May 7 to 11, and will be attended by more than 25 ministers, deputy ministers and other high authorities from about 20 countries in the region.
