The Branch of the Havana International Center (CIH) and the University of Las Tunas was inaugurated

The University of Las Tunas (ULT) redoubles its efforts to strengthen the link with companies, seeking to increase business activity in the province and serving as a facilitator of government management based on innovation.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- To this end, the Branch of the Havana International Center (CIH) and the University of Las Tunas were inaugurated. The first is an interface company that has gone from a joint venture to civil society, to become a commercial company with a much broader corporate purpose.

The CIH has two international economic associations aimed at auditing and consulting services, and also alliances with national institutions. It operates in an office at the Mariel Special Development Zone and the general meeting of shareholders functions as the supreme governing body of the mercantile company, of which Las Tunas University is already a part.

Dr.Sc. Norlán Hidalgo Bárcenas, incoming president of CIH S.A, sees the union of these two entities as a way to expand knowledge and considers that “the Branch must become a natural training space, either as a basic labor entity or as a teaching unit for students to be linked.

“We assume a colossal challenge, as well as the prospects for development everything depends on the creativity, dedication, and sacrifice of those of us who are linked to the task of promoting the branch with science and innovation so that its economic results are significant by the foreseen plans."

As an example of the opening of operations between CIH- and ULT, framework collaboration contracts were signed between the National Drilling and Construction Company, belonging to the CAUDAL Group, the Paco Cabrera Metal Structures Company (METUNAS), and the TECNOAZUCAR base business unit.

The main objective of these contracts is linked to the main services provided by the Branch - now located in the province-, focused on training, technology transfer, consulting, auditing, academic services abroad, and the management of research, development, and innovation projects.
