The cultural sectors brings joy to May Day parades

Artists from Las Tunas join the festivities for International Workers' Day, aware of the importance of their work to raise the aesthetic taste of the population, and spiritual growth, and contribute to a more prepared society.

Nilian Rodríguez Las Tunas, Cuba.- "This Friday, musical groups will be presented in the different territories, mostly with members of our institution's catalog," Niliam Rodríguez, head of the Barbarito Díez Music and Entertainment Marketing Company, told 26.

“In the main municipality, after the parade ends, the Caisimú orchestra will perform, which is celebrating its 40 years of artistic life and, under the tutelage of maestro Alexander Ochoa, is part of the musical heritage of the province. Starting at 6:00 pm, we will enjoy "La Cubanía", a young group, prominent here in popular music, with a different label, made for the dancing public and a repertoire of their own. And we will close the night with "Conexión Urbana", another group especially aimed at young people,” she said.

“In Bartle, "Barricada" will be presented, at night; in Puerto Padre, there will be "Sonora Tropical", a group from Majibacoa, with a good reception in the Villa Azul; and in "Jesús Menéndez", once the parade is over, there will be "Embajadores del Ritmo", an orchestra with more than 90 years of artistic life.

"Meanwhile, "Sonoridad Cubana" will arrive in Manatí, which -although in a small format- has excellent musicians, including the soloist Berlis Fernández. In Majibacoa, "Gran Caribe" will perform; in “Colombia,” "La Cubanía" will also present its sound, around noon. And in “Amancio” and Jobabo, the musical shows will be performed by amateur talent, which does not detract from the quality of the presentations.”

The realization of political-cultural galas in greeting to the date has brightened different territories in previous days. "May is a month of joy. This is another way to defend our Culture," she added.

Ramón BatistaThe workers of El Cucalambé Ibero-American Décima Center join the celebration with the accompaniment of representative elements of our identity. Ramón Batista, in charge of that institution, said: "In the parade, we show the defense of the Cuban identity with a pullover that alludes to the 30th anniversary of our institution, in this calendar, besides scarves, hats, and a large poster with the message: ‘The Cuban Point, Intangible Heritage of Humanity’. All of this expresses out loud that we are Cubans.”

The provincial branch of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) also joins the Proletariat party. Jesús Ricardo Pérez Cecilia, the vice president of the Las Tunas youth artistic vanguard, expressed: "This year we are in the framework of our 4th Congress and we try to make an organization more similar to the times we live in, the country we dream of, and the one we want to achieve from the culture. Our battle is every day, and it is won through work, thought, and action. We cannot let the shortcomings take over our desire to continue. Culture saves and vindicates.”

With this conviction, exponents of various manifestations of art arrive at Major General Vicente García Revolution Plaza, to put their hands and hearts to the land that saw them born and needs them so much.
