Every year, Mother's Day becomes a reason for celebration in various ways. The Art for Mom Craft Fair, promoted by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) nationwide, is one such event. In Las Tunas, this invitation, from May 5th to 8th, provides the public with access to a variety of handcrafted items.
Las Tunas, Cuba.– Thus, at the Fayad Jamís Gallery and the Armando Hart Cultural Plaza, in the historic center, a variety of products, the fruit of local artisans' ingenuity, are being sold. Among them are blouses, dresses, and sarongs knitted by artisan Teresa Escalona, who leads the CrochArte project and other arts. Also available are bracelets, earrings, necklaces, wallets, keychains, dreamcatchers, plants, and household items.

On Tuesday, during the opening of the Fair, soloist Camilo Hechavarría shared his musical talent at the “Fayad Jamís” venue, in the presence of FCBC directors in the province. His harmonious voice, combined with the vibrant colors and authenticity of the diverse surrounding crafts, provided a warm welcome to the cultural space.
Likewise, within the framework of this event, other provinces are exhibiting handicrafts born from the originality of local artists, as is the case in Holguín and Havana. In the latter, for example, the artisan Amaury Garcés, who works with leather, is featured. In this way, the event joins in the tribute to Cuban mothers, but also celebrates our heroines of labor and members of the Federation of Cuban Women.

Meanwhile, other artists in the sector are preparing initiatives to honor the occasion, including the "Spring of Love" concert, organized to celebrate mothers and the 30-year artistic career of soloist Berlis Fernández. "Why that title? Because a mother's love is like that, like a spring, always present for our children and always striving to give them the best.”
"I can tell you that I'll have special guests and I'll divide the performance into three parts: the first is dedicated entirely to mothers; the second will be a nostalgic look back at the soundtrack of my childhood, with songs my mother, grandmothers, and aunts used to hum; and the third will feature a duet with a colleague," Berlis told 26.
