Miguel Díaz Nápoles was granted the "Radio Microphone."

Miguel Alberto Díaz Nápoles is one of the workers who stand out for his integrality within the Radio universe in Las Tunas. He arrived there in the 90s of the last century, after consolidating as a reporter in the 26 Newspaper, to learn new languages and more immediate ways of reflecting on the events of the territory.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In the context of the celebration of the centenary of the media, he received the Radio Microphone, the highest recognition given by the institution for the years of consecration, dedication, and relevance of the work.

As a reporter, editor, founder of Radio Victoria's Tiempo21 website -with all the beginnings and experimentations that the incursion into the Internet represented-; and also director and screenwriter, he has known how to extract the essences from everyday life, through his work, questioning the wrong done and exalt the best in every sphere of society.

Today, he appreciates the opportunity to be a consolidated creator in the dynamics of this "magic box", where there is still much to give and build. “Radio has been an important part of my journey since I decided to come here because I was born as a journalist in 26.

“What has Radio allowed me? Everything. It allowed me to report on the work of Cuban doctors in Ghana, in sub-Saharan Africa. Also, in the period 2016-2017, I worked at teleSUR; first, as a multimedia editor; then, for the screen in the editorial table; and finally, in the assignment table, which are the channel's own contents.

"If I hadn't worked at a radio station, it might have been difficult to work there; but the dynamics of the radio prepare you to work in all media fields."

After a period as head of the group that manages hypermedia content, Díaz Nápoles returns to work as a journalist. And the impact of his materials is undeniable, as gauges of the heartbeat of the people from the analysis of the main social and economic problems, which implies questioning the joint construction of a better country.

“It is said that written press is the soul, the mother of journalism; but when you learn about the Radio, you realize that it is the most complex media because when you read a text you can immediately decode it, but conveying a message through sound, which goes beyond words, is a truly difficult task.

“In Radio Victoria, I have improved in hypermedia journalism, radio, directing, and dominating the technological process -from writing a note to making the sound and directing a program. It has been essential in my life; I owe it everything as a professional, without a doubt”.

Miguel Díaz Nápoles has carried out audiovisual projects that highlight the imprint of outstanding local creators. He is a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), an organization in which he chaired the Film, Radio, and Television Branch. He is often seen betting on the improvement of his colleagues and guiding the steps of those who start their path in such a complex communicative scenario. It is not only about mastering the routines, he knows it and so advocates it; a radio broadcaster, as it is proven, is an ally of passion.
