Cuban President inaugurates 40th International Tourism FairCuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel inaugurated today the 40th International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2022, which was attended by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and heads of the sector from several countries.

Varadero, Cuba.- The event, held at the Plaza America Convention Center in the Varadero beach resort, was attended by Cuban several ministries heads, representatives of the accredited diplomatic corps, businessmen, tour operators, and travel agencies, among other people linked to the leisure industry.

The opening day has an agenda full of important topics and current trends in the travel industry, as well as the most recent proposals regarding leisure and vacation in Cuba. After the inaugural ceremony at the Plenary Hall of the Plaza America fairgrounds, a series of negotiations and the presentation of Destination Cuba began at the Josone Park, quite near the central venue of the meeting.

 

The day before, the Cuban head of state held a meeting with delegates to FITCuba 2022, where he described the event as a triumph of the people against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, Cuba and Argentina signed a memorandum of understanding for the strengthening of relations in the field of tourism and held a forum on sustainability in the sector, where they shared experiences, actions, and strategies.

FITCuba 2022 has brought together tour operators and travel agents from all over the world, especially those doing business with Cuba, and a considerable group of executives interested in initiating tourism deals. (PL)
