The University of Las Tunas takes part in 37 international agreements, as a result of a coherent relationships strategyThe University of Las Tunas takes part in 37 international agreements, as a result of a coherent relationships strategy that allows scientific updating, cooperation and mobility with universities and institutions in different regions of the world.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Besides, new contracts are managed from the Business Group, for the development of projects and research stays, which contribute to doctoral training and publication in high impact journals.

Agreements with universities in Mexico, Argentina, with the Veracruz Foundation of Indigenous Communities, the Active Life Institute of Ecuador and with the Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (Ciemat) of Spain stand out. Moreover, the university achieved exchanges in the undergraduate, postgraduate courses, masters and doctorates in countries such as Angola, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Germany, France, among others.

According to the executive board of the center of high studies, the systematization of access to different scholarship programs in Mexico, Spain, India, Belize, the Dominican Republic and the People's Republic of China is a priority, which contribute to the preparation and specialization of the teaching staff, in special, those under 35 years.

In 2019, the International Project of Local Agricultural Innovation (known as PIAL by its Spanish acronyms) was maintained in its fourth phase, with a sustained favorable impact on the institution, as well as on territorial progress. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Trade approved the file of the international project named “Development of Technology and Training in Renewable Energy for Local Development in Las Tunas”. The University of Cienfuegos, the Martha Abreu Central University, the University of Oriente and the Metallurgical Mining Institute of Moa will collaborate.

In addition, the center cooperates with other initiatives, including the Clean Energy Technology Project for Rural Areas in Cuba, in collaboration with the Hatuey Forage Center in Matanzas; and the Eco-Friendly Multidisciplinary Approach Project that seeks to control and manage the marabou tree. The latter is a cooperation with the University of Camaguey and the foreign counterpart is the Handet University of Belgium.

From the growth of the scientific and academic potential, the participation of the institution's professionals in academic networks is increased. Currently, 21 associations of this type are involved worldwide, some of them of high impact; as well as in 16 national knowledge networks, among which the Gucid Network and the Energy and Efficiency Network of the Ministry of Higher Education stand out.
