Around 80,000 students are returning to classrooms this Monday in Las Tunas, in a network of 630 schools spread across the eight municipalities. A day when the streets are filled with color and joy. Children, adolescents, and youngsters. All of them, on their way to embark on the path of knowledge, and with them, their families.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- The Eliécer Botello Semi-boarding School, from now on, in Majibacoa, is hosting the main activities for the start of the school year here.
During a recent visit to Las Tunas, the Minister of Education, Naima Ariatne Trujillo Barreto, made it clear that the new teaching period "is unlike any other we have experienced" and thanked the sensitivity and dedication of the workers in the sector, whom she repeatedly described as "sacrificed.”
Another school year begins, and with it the opportunity to grow as a society, starting with small, latent gestures, such as a child's good morning upon arriving at school, and other more demanding ones, such as families not leaving the teachers alone in the great task of educating their children.
Let us live this day with the hope that Cuba's present and future will be on our desks today. Let us cultivate its path.
