Las Tunas celebrates the International Student's Day.

Las Tunas awoke Monday with a different feel. It was early, but the streets already held the light, clean, almost contagious energy that only students bring when they embrace a globally recognized day that belongs to them by history and right.

The celebration began with a bike ride that departed from Plaza Martiana. It was a beautiful sight: young men and women pedaling toward the Ángel López Stadium (known as the Chiquito Stadium) as if paving the way for a festival in which youth sets the rhythm and purpose. There were no loud noises, only the natural impulse to move forward, to arrive together.

In the days leading up to the event, the students joined together for cleanup efforts, camping, and recreational activities that gave atmosphere and meaning to this day. They did it because they understand that it is also their responsibility to beautify, care for, and enliven the spaces they enjoy today.

From 9:00 a.m., the stadium transformed into a meeting point for sports games, casino games, and the ever-lively sanabanda. Laughter, friendly rivalries, and that unintentional camaraderie that reveals the spirit of those who still look at the world with hope and a desire to make it better mingled there.

The afternoon still held a special event: the provincial gala at the University of Las Tunas theater, a stage where young talent shone brightly. And from 7:00 p.m., with the Chiquito Stadium once again serving as the gathering place, recreational activities will close out the day.

Meanwhile, each municipality celebrated International Students' Day in its own way.
