Luz Martiana youth virtual event

The activities in tribute to José Martí in Las Tunas, for the 126th anniversary of his death in the Dos Ríos fields, had an intense day yesterday from the headquarters of the Union of Cuban Historians (UNHIC).

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Scholars and followers of the Apostle's work met there to discuss issues related to his passage through this world, and the validity of his legacy in Cuba today, during the opening of an event, mostly virtual, entitled Luz Martiana (The Light of José Martí).

Panel "Martí's presence in Eastern Cuba”The Doctor of Science Frank Arteaga exchanged on the perception of the figure of the Maestro before the triumph of the Revolution, as part of the panel "Martí's presence in Eastern Cuba,” which the few young people gathered in the place, due to the complex health panorama that we live, listened carefully.

Meanwhile, the Doctor of Science Guillermo Montero spoke about the commemorations held in Las Tunas on May 19 throughout history; and the also Doctor of Science Alberto Velázquez dedicated a few minutes to the intense chapter of political communication linked to the thought of the National Hero of Cuba.

The Master of Science Perla Quintana highlighted the history of the Plaza Martiana (José Martí Plaza), vital to get closer to the legacy of the “Dos Ríos’ Man.”

In the afternoon, the people of Las Tunas will go around that place again, where the light awaits us. Because every May 19, just at the time when “Pepe” fell, a sunlight ray illuminates his face, which presides over the emblematic place.
