14th National Internal Control Verification

In Las Tunas, 19 companies or Base Business Units (UEB) will be the subject of the 14th National Internal Control Verification, which will take place until October 31 throughout Cuba, and is fundamentally directed to check the entities involved in the production of food and companies with losses.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Marbelis Almaguer Infante, provincial chief comptroller, commented to the press that the main objective is to verify compliance with the 43 measures approved for the improvement of the Socialist Business System, due to the importance it regains in current times as a fundamental actor of the economy.

In Las Tunas, as in the rest of the country, this verification will examine the selected entities, through the so-called compliance audits, the application and impact in the Agriculture sector of the 63 measures planned by the central government to boost agricultural production.

Almaguer Infante pointed out that 64 auditors will support the activity, distributed in different groups, together with 38 students from the specialties of Law, Accounting, and Auditing, as well as experts from the Office of Standardization and the ONI.

“The sample is distributed in seven of the eight municipalities, most of them in the provincial capital. Besides the main program, among the specific issues to be investigated are economic contracting processes, receivable and payable accounts, payroll and payment systems, inventories, use of fuel and means of state transportation, and cash on hand and at the bank.

This type of audit will also allow exploring the financial relationships between economic actors, the stimulation of exports and import substitution, as well as the efficient development of activities that have an economic and social impact.

After two years of interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this activity is resumed by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, to assess internal control, in line with the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution, updated in the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the objectives of the First National Conference of this political organization.
