Solid waste collection improves in Las Tunas

With the arrival of tires to repair various vehicles involved in the collection of solid waste, the daily life of this service in the municipality of Las Tunas is oxygenated a bit.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Félix Cobas Mojena, deputy general director of Community Services in this city, told the local radio station that, of the three collectors, only one is not working due to a problem in the collection system, for which solutions are being sought.

“We have drawn up a strategy that begins with the collection in the city center, the Health Complex, and the Buena Vista neighborhood and, progressively, is extended to the remaining popular councils.

"It is important to highlight the support of organizations such as the Construction Maintenance Company, the Provincial Road Establishment, and the colleagues who work on the Asphalt Plant, who are supporting a mobilization in some areas of the Buena Vista district, trying to give a boost to the collection of the garbage accumulated there.”

The manager insisted that there is a deficit of carts for these purposes in Las Tunas, and said that with the arrival of these tires and some batteries, they hope the collection can be stabilized and, therefore, the hygiene and health of the spaces are maintained.
