Las Tunas, Cuba.- He came by surprise. All of olive green. The collective at that time, excited, didn't know what to do. They say that he praised the enclosure, practically newly inaugurated, and compared it to a small castle. He asked the staff repeatedly to take care of this beautiful installation, because in all of Cuba there were few with its characteristics.
The time was fleeting. He stamped a signature in a blank page of the guestbook. He wished many successes and, with his "skill" made the workers - who accompanied him to the exit - to be committed.
No one knows how or where the camera that immortalized the farewell appeared, justt in front of the nursery school. Only one picture in sepia, spent by the years, endures today of that event that many people didn't know: Fidel visited the Amiguitos del Minint nursery school on November 28, 1988.
There is no one left of the collective at that time to tell the story, but the brief visit is a kind of pride that is assiduity remembered.
In its salons, as in so many, children learn to love Fidel, with the pleasant peculiarity that "their castle" honors the commitment made once with the giant bearded man who always smiles from the seat of honor, just at the entrance.
