Las Tunas university students held an antimperialist camp.

University students celebrated in Las Tunas the 97th birthday of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz (born on August 13, 1920), with an anti-imperialist camp.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- At the Pepito Tey Campus of the University of Las Tunas, three workshops were dedicated to discussing the anti-imperialist and solidarity legacy that is a paradigm for the new generations, and the Latin American student movement and its struggles for inclusive education, as well as the bonds of solidarity in the region.

The president of the organization at the University of Medical Sciences, Daimarelis Flores, highlighted the value of this meeting, also dedicated to the 57th anniversary of the Continental Latin American and Caribbean Student Organization (OCLAE), the highest representation of students in this region and a unique platform to articulate their struggles.

An anti-imperialist evening was held at the University of Medical Sciences, productive work was carried out this Friday at the Clodomira Acosta Maternity Home.

Other activities for Fidel's birthday include the exchange with the beneficiaries of the Buena Vista Grandparents' House, the cleaning of La Herradura beach, and the ascent to Cerro de Caisimú, as well as the Pioneer Festival "Cuba, My Country.

With the hope that Fidel will not be "a cold museum piece or an object of empty worship," but that he will continue to be our support in new struggles, a political and cultural gala will be held in the Jose Martí Plaza on Saturday to pay tribute to the youth, on their International Day, and the leader who throughout his life maintained an ideal and a practice of renewal. The tributes will multiply in different ways throughout the provincial geography.
