Messages and photos of congratulations, fulfilled dreams, thanks, and even allegorical cakes at the moment flood the social media profiles of young people, family members, and friends of a large part of the more than 700 new Medical Sciences graduate in Las Tunas this 2021.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- These are the days of state exams and evaluation exercises for the 37th graduation in this eastern Cuban province; behind the sanitary masks, you can appreciate the joy and pride when graduating and thus being part of the brave Cuban army of white coats.

Diamela Henríquez Navarro, dean of the Las Tunas University of Medical Sciences, exclusively told the Cuban News Agency (ACN) that a total of 705 students will complete their training in the modalities of the regular daytime course, the course for workers; as well as short-cycle superior technician and medium-level technician, for ninth and twelfth-grade graduates, respectively.

Las Tunas will have 482 new professionals in Medicine and 45 in Nursing; besides those who graduate in the specialties of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Health Information System, who total thirty, she pointed out.

Henríquez Navarro explained that, for the first time in Las Tunas, two careers belonging to the short-cycle superior technician modality graduate their student: 41 from Nursing, and five from Epidemiological Surveillance and Vector Control; undoubtedly, subjects of great importance and need for the Cuban Health System.

Also, almost a hundred young people will graduate from the specialties of Human Physiology and Immune-allergy, Orthotics, Pharmaceutical Service, and Aquatic Rescue, upon completing their studies as technicians; as well as six vector control skilled workers.

Many are the stories of self-improvement that these days it is possible to find on digital platforms, dreams come true, even in the midst of atypical circumstances due to the confrontation with the COVID-19 pandemic; a battle that these brave youngsters starred in days of stress and wakefulness due to their graduation exams.
