Mass organiations send aid to provinces hit by Hurricane Ian

The strength of a country lies in unity, and this is demonstrated by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) and the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), which decided to unite to support the victims of Hurricane Ian, in the western provinces.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Communities from the municipalities of Colombia, Manatí, and Jesús Menéndez joined such a noble cause and have already contributed five shipments for those territories.

Eddys Xander Sánchez Concepción, the provincial coordinator of the CDR, explains that "the importance of this support action lies in sharing what we have, a quality that characterizes the people of Las Tunas. The donations range from food resources that do not require refrigeration to those of the toilet, clothes, and the authorization of bank accounts to which money can be deposited, either in national or freely convertible currency.

"We have two fundamental objectives: to demonstrate our solidarity and reach as many hurricane victims as possible. Sensitivity and unity at this time are paramount and all help will be well received."
