Las Tunas participates at FIHAV 2022

The presentation of the Integral Agricultural Company (EIA) as the first export and import entity of Las Tunas is the main novelty of this province at the Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV 2022), which takes place until November 18.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Under the AGROINT commercial brand, it will negotiate with products from the local Food Industry and the Fishing Company (PESCATUN). As a representative of the province, it will offer export and import services not only to the state companies but also to natural persons. Currently, it exports coal, medlar, coconut, soursop, sugar apple, chunky banana, and sweet potato, among others.

Salvador Sariol, head of the Department of Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment, and International Cooperation in this eastern Cuban province, pointed out that a relevant moment for Las Tunas at FIHAV 2022 will be the presentation of PESCATUN, involved in an investment process along with a foreign firm, which will be dedicated to online wholesale sales and productions within the country, at affordable prices in national currency.

The Integral Food Company is also negotiating for the opening of a wholesale store and an industrial complex dedicated to the preparation of different offers, as part of the internationalization of Las Tunas entities, which are already venturing into markets in Japan, South America, and Canada.

In 2018, the Balcón de Oriente (Eastern Cuban Balcony) only had 14 exportable products and, today, they have expanded to 26. The work with foreign businessmen interested in investing in the province is consolidated, and there is potential yet to be developed in the complex world of foreign trade, for which the province already has several qualified professionals in this field.

FIHAV is an event of transcendental connotation in the field of trade and investment, and it is the most important commercial fair on the Island and the Caribbean. Some 60 countries attend the 38th edition, with top-level delegations chaired by ministers and senior government officials.
