National Association of Small Farmers elects candidates to deputies of the Cuban Parliament

In the eight municipal committees of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in the province of Las Tunas, valuable members of society, especially from the cooperative and peasant sector, were proposed as pre-candidates for the National Assembly of the People's Power.

Las Tunas, Cuba - According to ANAP Provincial Bureau member Michel Peña Infante, in the meetings a total of 48 proposals were made to be part of the Cuban Parliament, and among them stand out food producers with outstanding trajectory and excellent production results.

Also included were the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and the first secretary in the territory, Manuel René Pérez Gallego, and the governor of Tuna, Jaime Ernesto Chiang Vega.

These proposals will be analyzed by the candidacy commission and presented to the delegates of the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power for their nomination as candidates, a usual practice, protected by the Electoral Law, and which is part of the general election process.

In addition to the ANAP, this procedure is carried out in the plenary sessions of the Federation of Cuban Women, the Cuban Social Workers Central, and the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution. Likewise, in the Federations of University Students and High School Students.

The election of the deputies to the Cuban Parliament will take place on March 26, 2023, and when the candidacy is approved; its members will visit neighborhoods and labor and student centers to exchange with the people, a usual practice at that stage of the electoral process.
