AGROINT Las Tunas deserved the Grand Prize

Due to the quantity and the quality of the agreements reached, the organizers of the 2nd Las Tunas Industry and Commerce Fair 2022 assure that it surpassed its first version held the last year.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- After the meetings, presentations, and conferences between the representatives of 85 state or private entities from various provinces and three foreign nations present in the different venues of the Theme Park, 696 letters of intent were signed here, well above the 491 signed in 2021. Although the 23 contracts concluded are equivalent to just over half of those signed in the previous edition, three were international. "These results exceed previous fairs," Governor Jaime Ernesto Chiang Vega said after referring to these data in his closing remarks.

“The top protagonists of this great commercial event have had the opportunity, in just four days, to exchange with suppliers and marketers. And above all, he stressed, confirming that there is strength in unity, that together we can make our dream of achieving the well-being of our people a reality, through a consolidated economy that is equal to having more resources for the construction of more social works, honoring the fundamental principle of socialism: to conquer the greatest possible social justice.”

The Fishing Company won the Communication and Business Management awards

The Integral Agricultural Company (AGROINT) won the Grand Prize; while those for Business Management and Communication, granted respectively by the Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Social Communicators, went to the Fishing Company. The entities belonging to the Delegation of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) monopolized the prize for the best stand, granted by the Provincial Council of Visual Arts, and the 78 letters of intent achieved earned them special recognition by the Organizing Committee.

For its part, the Las Tunas-based business unit of Talabartería Habana (Thaba) took the Quality and Excellence Award for its 2122 backpack product, from the Territorial Office for Standardization. Tecnoazúcar, the Tobacco Collection, Processing, and Twisting Company, the Caché Bar Restaurant, and Las Marías self-employed were among the laureates for their abilities in establishing links between the public sector and the new economic actors.

Other entities received special commendations. Such was the case of the companies of Security and Protection, Post Office, and the Agro-industrial of Grains; also, Las Tunas University, the municipalities of Manatí, Majibacoa, and “Colombia, “and the Deyabú Coffee project.

By 2023, the Industry and Commerce Fair will face the challenge of increasing the number of companies from Las Tunas with the status of exporter-importer, already achieved by AGROINT. Likewise, the sensitivity of the local business community must grow, to take advantage of these spaces for exhibition and inter-company communication in all aspects.
