The administration of the El Tunero agricultural market and the possibility of materializing a joint venture based on foreign agreements are among the most recent projects of the Mercasa medium-sized private company, from Las Tunas, for this year.

Las Tunas.- Argel Frank Fundora Acosta, director-general of Mercasa, explained exclusively to the Cuban News Agency that as of February 11, the company took over the management of "El Tunero," an establishment located in the center of the city of Las Tunas, which as a market has similar characteristics to those of El Mambí, a place that this economic actor manages since October 2021.

"El Tunero," administered until now by the Provincial Collection Company, has departments that are used for specialized sales and cubicles for agricultural products, from now on, supplied mainly by Mercasa.

Inside the market, the people can find a wholesale area for other actors of the economy, the Apiculture Company with its honey and derivatives, the Pork Company will have its own sales department; while the Meat Company will take over the management of the restaurant that exists inside this place, Fundora Acosta pointed out.

Grains will also be present, both on the part of the entity in charge of these products and Mercasa itself; a business that has already revitalized the socioeconomic environment of El Mambí with varied offers and services to the population, ranging from a self-service market to the recent opening of a restaurant and a bar.

Fundora Acosta also informed about the choice of Mercasa to participate in March, at the decision of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, in an event in India to materialize a joint venture for the commercialization of agricultural products.

Mercasa has become an important ally of the families in Las Tunas, if it is about finding solutions, because the company bets on creative strategies to expand its services and -at the same time- offers the lowest prices within the private sector, besides the fact that each new project translates into more employment opportunities.
