The Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez evaluated the progress of the project for the execution of works in La Herradura 1 wind farm, to the north of the municipality of Jesús Menéndez, and the largest of its kind in Cuba, where 22 bases destined for the next assembly of their respective wind turbines have already been cast.

"Jesús Menéndez,” Las Tunas.- The also Hero of the Republic of Cuba was interested in the interconnection variants between the wind turbines, scheduled for assembly by the end of this year or the beginning of 2024, for which the alternatives are evaluated aerially or underground, according to issues such as investment cost, vulnerabilities to climate, quality of facilities, and feasibility in each process.

The Vice Prime Minister of Cuba exchanged with specialists about the assurances in the execution of the eight civil works in this construction phase, for which some 40 million pesos are allocated, of which around 15 million are foreseen for inputs and supplies.

Adela Álvarez Fernández, director of Preparation and Construction of Wind Farms, offered detailed information to the member of the Politburo of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) on the execution schedule, its investment costs, logistical assurances, contracting of the workforce, and supply and assembly entities.

Likewise, she referred to the preparation of the group to guarantee the efficiency and quality of each work, despite the serious limitations of fuel and the main resources that allow the construction of this important investment, in favor of the generation of energy from about 33 MW in the country.
