Federation of Cuban Women celebrates its 63rd anniversary

The decisive contribution of the women of Las Tunas to the economic, political, and social development of this eastern Cuban province made them deserving of today's national celebration for the 63rd anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC).

Las Tunas, Cuba - The Major General Vicente García González Revolution Plaza, in this city, will witness the Central Act for the commemorative activities of the organization, which welcomes 91 percent of the female population in Las Tunas, and is committed to accompanying the challenges of women of these times.

Linked to food production in rural communities, science, services, the business system, health, the teaching profession, the non-state sector, or from their homes, performing the difficult role of caregivers or housewives, they are all "Women in Revolution."

Everything is ready in Las Tunas to celebrate the achievements and challenges of Cuban women who, 63 years after their organization was founded, continue to defend their rights through the new Family Code, the National Program for the Advancement of Women, and the Observatory for Gender Equality.
