Las Tunas 2024 March of the Torches

From three points at Las Tunas city, the young people came out with their lit torches, to lead the march in greeting to the José Martí 171st birthday anniversary.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The event, repeated in each of the Las Tunas municipalities on Friday evening, made clear, once again, the roots of the author of The Golden Age among the inhabitants of these lands.

In this capital city, the groups converged on the José Martí Plaza, where the solemn evening took place with the participation of the province's main political and governmental authorities.

There, the voice of Fidel Castro, amplified to the four winds, recalled that Martí was the intellectual author of the assault on the Moncada barracks, the inspirer of generations, the man who lived a short time but greatly contributed to this country and its history.

Music accompanied the event, and the voice of the vice president of the José Martí Youth Movement (MJM, in Spanish) ratified the commitment of the “new pines” to the freedom that we learned from the Apostle, which is not limited to a time and must be conquered in its entirety with an eye toward the future.
