Those who own livestock must contribute to its care

In order to ensure the safety of the livestock and to take care of the main crops, in each of the cooperatives belonging to the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), the Detachment of Peasant Surveillance against crime is strengthened.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In coordination with the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), these brigades carry out operational guards, tours and alerts in order to confront illegalities, with emphasis on reducing the criminal nature of theft and the slaughter of large livestock, which is the most common and the most affected.

The information and reporting system established by these rural units should contribute positively to the confrontation of social indiscipline, illegalities and crimes, as evidenced by the Mártires de Manatí Credit and Service Cooperative, which has five groups created, divided by zones, to observe and remain alert to any abnormality in the established procedures.

Despite the fact that there are currently no significant criminal acts, it is important that these confrontation patrols do not stop the task, especially when the national economy needs one hundred percent of the contracted production, so that, what is obtained from these peasant structures reaches the people.

By means of the denunciations coming from the ANAP's base organizations or from the peasant producers themselves, a control network is activated to confirm the infraction and to proceed together with the PNR as stipulated.

In order to detect such incidents, these members of the anti-crime brigade are usually trained to know how to proceed in the face of such disobedience and what the main criminal acts are that can be committed.

In addition to keeping these members on constant alert, those who own livestock must also contribute to this care, being responsible with their animals and guaranteeing the security of their stables so as not to neglect the herd.
