On the occasion of the 26th National History Congress held in Las Tunas, and in commemoration of the 83rd anniversary of the founding of this prestigious event in Cuba, a commemorative postal issue was cancelled for the first time at this conclave.

Two postal issues were selected for the commemorative cancellation: one entitled "20th Anniversary of the Death of Emilio Roig de Leuchsenring," and the other, "Loyal to Leal," with the usual tribute to Eusebio Leal Spengler.

Thanks to the contribution of Correos de Cuba and the Cuban Postal Museum, this edition of the National History Congress and its traces on Las Tunas soil were perpetuated in local and philatelic history.
