The Cuban president continues touring different municipalities

The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, visited the municipality of Manatí as part of the tours that he began at the beginning of the year to evaluate compliance with the priorities of work planned for 2024.

He was accompanied by the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, Roberto Morales Ojeda. The journey began at the town's photovoltaic park. It is the twelfth municipality visited by the highest Party leadership to touch with their hands how those objectives that seek to move the country forward from that essential microworld of the nation that is the municipality are achieved.

In the afternoon, the visitors held a meeting with the main political and government leaders of Las Tunas and, particularly, Manatí.

President Díaz-Canel met with authorities of the municipality and the province

The conclusions of the Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba were made, which reviewed the daily work of the political organization in this territory, an analysis far from complacency or lukewarm cloth.

In this regard, the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, Roberto Morales Ojeda, criticized the low presence of the members of the Municipal Committee and its Executive Bureau in the meetings of the grassroots organizations. "It is there where the work of the Party is decided," he assured.

Morales Ojeda clarified that beyond criticism it is healthier to focus on how much needs to be done to achieve results from the plans outlined. The missions of the PCC, he recalled, are the economic battle, the fight for peace, and ideological firmness.

He announced that the organization will come to a debate on the economic program released at the end of 2023, with the aim of it being fully understood by citizens.

It is also necessary, he noted, a comprehensive evaluation of the policy of cadres of political and government organizations; evaluating them for their results, not only for their effort, sacrifice, or dedication. The meeting of the nucleus cannot be a formality or something bureaucratic, but rather a moment to uncover the problems and collectively find solutions, he stated.

AT THE LA FE INTEGRAL FARM

The President visited La Fe integral farm

The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, also visited the La Fe integral farm, owned by Dixan Pérez Santos, a young producer from the Mártires de Manatí credit and services cooperative.

There, he heard the experiences of this man from Las Tunas, who transformed a little more than 13 hectares, which he received into usufruct about a decade ago, and dedicated himself to planting various crops and raising small livestock, especially sheep and goats.

Pérez Santos is associated with the Urban Farm of the municipality and is one of the producers linked to an initiative of the World Food Program (WFP) and the Provincial Meteorological Center (CMP) of Las Tunas, which developed the Crop Monitoring and Forecast Project of yields based on analysis of agrometeorological data and satellite images.

This Manati farmer has established agreements with the local social protection network and sells another part of the production to the rest of the population.
"If everyone worked like you, we would have more food in the countryside," Díaz-Canel told him.
